Able to Change Recovery’s mission is to provide the highest quality and most cost-effective treatment to those suffering from drug addiction, alcoholism, and related mental illnesses. The rehab also places great emphasis on restoring lives, rebuilding families, and improving communities.
The care plan begins with a thorough assessment that gathers information about seven areas of a client’s life. These areas include medical issues, psychiatric history, employment and education, drug and alcohol use history, legal issues, family history, and social relationships.
Especially relevant, an initial treatment plan is established within 3 days of the patient’s admission to the program.
Primary Treatment Phase – 28 Day Treatment
The Primary Treatment Phase is a 28-day program that consists of daily activities and rigorous recovery treatment. Four times per day, clients attend group therapy which focuses on relapse prevention and life skills, as well as psycho-education groups six days out of the week.
Therapy techniques typically include CBT and DBT practices. Weekly individual therapy sessions serve to review treatment goals and discuss individual struggles. Clients participate in gender-specific groups and may also be included in anger management groups or special dual-diagnosis groups.

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) starts after the completion of the first phase. Patients can either stay in the facility or move back home. Clients still attend 10 hours a week of therapeutic activities, while at the same time looking for employment or enrollment in school. The client will have access to computers, fax machines, and high-speed Internet.
In addition to the daily 12-step meetings, patients also visit three evening groups per week, and one private counseling session.

The client will begin working on his discharge plan that includes employment, living arrangements, financial plans, support system, 12-step activities, and follow-up outpatient treatment. Program completion allows patients to become active members of the Alumni Club.

The equine therapy involves interactions and activities with horses. It includes all activities related to horses like feeding, grooming, haltering, and leading them.
Experiential therapy involves the body and engages in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. It can involve role-play, or using props. This kind of treatment helps patients to deeply process trauma, memories, and emotions.
Animal therapy helps patients bond with animals. It is especially relevant for those who suffered trauma by the hands of people and find it easier to form attachments to animals.

Able to Change Recovery easily exceeds expectations concerning the treatment of chemically dependent loved ones. ATCR saves countless lives by providing their clients with every possible advantage that can be provided by a treatment center in Orange County. As a former client, I credit much of my livelihood and newfound joy in living to my experience at ATCR. – K.C
There isn’t much in the way of process groups or working through denial. Because they take so many clients at a time, if you or a loved one isn’t vocal, it would be easy for them to slip through the cracks. Find a place that excels at challenging and confronting denial, defense mechanisms, and group process. – John
