Providing a foundation for better health and better lives, Cenikor Foundation is a non-profit rehab that helps individuals deal with behavioral health issues and addictions.

Offering treatment services all throughout Texas and Louisiana, the facility treats both adults and adolescents, and has impacted more than 40,000 lives in the process.

Promoting a culture of service, professional development, growth and opportunity, Cenikor Foundation strives to help patients change their behaviors and their perceptions so that they can rebuild themselves as responsible citizens.

1.      Treatment

Cenikor Foundation offers a variety of programs, including detox services, short-term and long-term inpatient programs, as well as outpatient services, and adolescent treatment programs. The center proudly provides each patient with evidence-based treatment and accredited programming, with a 24/7 support from an experienced and professional staff.

Moreover, Cenikor’s short-term inpatient treatment programs provide a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan that includes assessment, screening, individual and group counseling, as well as life skills training and education for family members.

Furthermore, patients enrolled in the long-term inpatient treatment programs participate in all aspects of the recovery program, including education and workforce development. Residents here will learn how to manage their money, find a job suited to their talents, find a proper support system after leaving the program, find a suitable place to live before graduation from the program, and develop new positive relationships with friends and family. Overall, this program lasts for approximately 18 to 24 months.

The center’s outpatient services offer a variety of counseling opportunities for patients battling with mental health conditions or substance abuse disorders. Patients attend individual or/and group treatment that includes counseling on coping skills, anger management, relapse prevention, anxiety disorders, depression,  marital counseling, as well as on sexual and physical abuse.

Moreover, Cenikor Foundation provides both inpatient and outpatient treatment services to adolescents. Male and female adolescents can both attend the program but must be 13 to 17 years old at time of admission. In addition to individual, group, and family therapy, teens also continue their education with qualified teaching staff and learn how to enjoy themselves in a sober environment.

4.      Reviews

Cenikor Foundation has received mixed reviews from alumni and their families. Some of the comments include:

My daughter has been there for over 90 days. Great program, great food, jobs, transportation, and fun. Moreover, she has been able to do more things on the group outings that she would have never been able to do in her drug induced life style. I would highly recommend Centikor for anyone who is ready for change. – S.H

The staff for the most part are caring and helpful, until you try to contact your family. Then they turn into liars and play games with you. Pretending the “phones don’t work” when they are clearly receiving calls right in front of you. Shame on them. – Dre

Pros: A rewarding position to have. I worked with 200 residents recovering from alcohol and addiction. The staff was professional and excellent. We functioned as a team. Cons: The job turnover was great. It was difficult to keep counselors due to offering part-time hours and non-competitive pay. The medical department operated 28 hours a week with one RN and two Medical Assistants. This was not enough time to care for the volume of residents we saw. Advice to Management: Hire full-time for medical. This would reduce the recidivism rate tremendously. Offer a competitive salary. – Former employee

Great place to work as a nurse. Learned a lot about drugs and their effects on people. I know they have helped thousands of people and their families. – Current employee

  1. Cenikor sounds like one of the the best drug rehabilitation centers that is currently available (On their Web Pages Only). Why is it that anybody that I talked to on the phone is unable to answer a simple question. I have gotten so many different answers from asking the exact same question. Does anyone know what they are doing or what kind of service that they are supposed to be providing? Every time that I have asked to talked to someone that might be able to answer the question, I get hung up on.I was asking someone about the Long-Term Program and how much is that going to cost. I was told that it would only be $1,100.00 as a one time fee. The rest of the cost that pays for them to stay in the long-term program comes from when a patient gets a job and then Cenikor takes their entire paycheck and leaves them nothing. In basic terms, that sounds a lot like forced labor. Cenkor also say that they will help the patient set up a checking/savings account. How does that work when Cenikor is taking all their money? My son is currently in the Corpus Christi Facility for over a week and has not even seen a counselor, doctor or therapist. Does anyone out there know why these people do not know how to do their jobs or what they need to do to help treat the patients. My son finally came to me to ask for help. this was the first time in over 20 years and i can’t believe that I put him in this place. I really should have looked at the reviews of this so-called foundation before sending my son there! Avoid this place at all cost. It is nothing but a scam, waist of time and waste of money. In one word to sum this all up is that it is a “LIE”!!!
