Situated in a remote mountain town pressed up against the pristine wilderness of Prescott National Forest, Prescott House is a long-term residential addiction treatment center.
Helping men who are struggling with chemical or process addictions, from alcoholism to compulsive gambling, the center provides extended care for men who have completed detox and primary care elsewhere.
Using services like yoga recovery, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Prescott House has been restoring men’s lives since 1988.
The treatment program at Prescott House lasts six to nine months. The therapeutic model uses experiential group therapy, family therapy, and advanced educational groups. The program addresses a wide range of issues, including Drug and Alcohol Addictions, Process Addictions, and Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders.
The main component is the group therapy where residents engage in 12 structured therapy groups per week, and work individually with a primary therapist. Clients can also participate in volunteer service work in the local community until they’re ready to take classes at one of the three local colleges or get a part-time job.
Furthermore, clients work on their written assignments and live in a safe environment that will nurture their personal and emotional growth in recovery. The dedicated staff at Prescott House helps residents develop healthy and supportive interpersonal skills that can be used to foster a new lifestyle in recovery. Another part of the program is the development of physical health, personal responsibility, as well as spiritual development, nutrition consultations, and interpersonal relationship skills.
Moreover, the treatment model features the 12-steps, while Cognitive Behavioral Restructuring is one of the program’s main goals. Consequently, Prescott House uses cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, as well as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing.
Apart from individual and group sessions, patients can also engage in holistic treatment like yoga, expressive arts therapy, and equine-assisted therapy.

What I love most about The Prescott House is the people. The people are who make it priceless. I am forever grateful for the time that I was given to be there. It was difficult and painful and I fought it most of the time. I gained a desire to live during my stay here. I just never thought that would happen. Thank you to the people of Prescott House for loving me! – M.M
Strengths included: Cleanliness, Treatment, Activities. Loved one relapsed and overdosed the day he left rehab. Overall everything checked out. All looked good, and well. I thought he was on the path to success. However, something went awry and he relapsed and overdosed the night he got out of rehab. – Anonymous
Prescott House is a wonderful treatment program. It’s not easy and it’s not fun but rehab isn’t supposed to be either of those things. There are no pedophiles of any sort but they do treat sexual addiction. It changed my life and that of countless of other men that I know. I highly recommend their program without reservation and have done so hundreds of times. – Michael
